This is an emotional visit and an important part of our history.

On 6 June 1944, 5000 ships and 10000 planes headed for the beaches in Normandy with 155 000 men on board.  At the end of the battle that followed, the Second World War was declared over.

- 40 minutes from Camping Le Clos de Balleroy discover the town of Caen - awarded "Cité de l’histoire pour la Paix" (City of History for Peace) - a town steeped in architectural and cultural heritage. 

- Located in the Manches region in Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel owes its name to the island it stands on, devoted to Saint Michel, where the famous abbey stands.  Once an important place of pilgrimage, today it is the most visited site in Normandy and the tenth most visited site in France with no less than 3 million visitors a year.
